Hey guys, my name is Jason and I'm 13 from America. When the schools start reopening after the corona virus starts to stop I will be a freshman in high school (I just finished 8th, going into 9th) and I really want to do study abroad for my Sophmore, Junior, or Senior year, so really any time after freshman.
The program that I want to use is called AFS-USA, and they have loads of countries to chose from, and I've been thinking about doing study abroad for over a year now, so probably since the summer before 8th grade. Over time I have narrowed it down to a couple of places that I would really enjoy studying abroad in. Keep in mind I dont want to go for just a semester, I'd really like to go for a full year, although, a semester is also fine.
*The places I have chosen but struggle to narrow down further:*
*But maybe also!*
I think really it boils down to the fact that most of these places I really am not educated much about. AFS-USA really only breifly covers each country in the description and it means you have to do a lot of research on your own for where you want to go. The two places I know a decent amount about areJapan and Switzerland, and some about New Zealand as well but not a great deal.
I guess what I'm really asking for is your opinion on where I should go, and if not, at least could you give me some insight about the countries I have chosen that I may not know about, that could help me narrow the decision. I would also like to know more about the countries I already know a decentamount of, like Japan, Switzerland, and even New Zealand.
Sorry to be a bother, I know I technically still have a couple of years to make up my mind, but I've been looking at these for about a year now and I don't really know what else I can do to narrow the places down. I'm very open minded as well so possibly reccomend places that *arent* on my list!
One final thing I guess I should note is that I'm currently learning Japanese with MIA (Mass Immersion Approach) just for fun that has nothing to do with studying abroad in Japan, but definitely as you guys may mention, knowing the language before going would definitely be of benefit to me.
